ABDULRAZZAQ TAKES GP HONOURS IN ITALY

*Gyorgy Zasza stuns champion to win Moto 2

Sunday, 4 June, PORTO CESAREO (Italy): Yousef Al Abdulrazzaq kick-started his season with overall victory in the UIM-ABP Aquabike Grand Prix of Italy, but was outclassed in Moto 2 by an astonishing performance by Hungary’s Gyorgy Kasza, charging from the back of the field of 21 to take the win.

Moto 1 winner Abdulrazzaq trailed in third for six laps behind Britain’s James Bushell and Sweden’s Lars Akerblom.

Akerblom hit the front on lap 7 when Bushell stopped and retired, but the man on the move was Kasza, scything his way through the pack, overhauling Abdulrazzaq and then Akerblom a lap later with the Swede then dropping to third.

Kasza’s remarkable drive jumped him from nowhere in the standings at race start to take third overall, behind Akerblom with Grand Prix honours going to defending champion Abdulrazzaq.
