Tuesday, 31 January: The UIM and ABP, the Promoter of the UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship have agreed to extend Runabout GP4 World Championship status, with the category making its international and world championship debut in Porto Cesareo in Italy on 2-4 June.

The decision to elevate GP4 follows the impressive growth of the class in National Series’ following the updating of rules in respect to the modifications allowed in the class.

In Porto Cesareo the line-up of categories competing in world championship races includes Runabout GP1 and 2, with GP4 replacing GP3. The categories in Ski division remain unchanged.

The rules for the GP4 can be found in section 501, page 123 in the 2017 Aquabike Rules published by the UIM.
