TWENTY TWO TEAMS TO LINE UP IN VLADIVOSTOK

Wednesday, 31 July: The entry for the UIM-ABP Aquabike Rally Jet World Championship - Russky Offshore 2013 - in Vladivostok, Russia on 12-17 August is growing by the day, with the event organisers Primorsky Krai Powerboat Sport Federation and Aquabike Promotion confirming at least 37 starters.

 

The impressive line-up sees a total of 22 teams with 11 international teams heading to Vladivostok to take on 11 from Russia.

 

The gruelling five day event made up of five heats of three 67kms circuits around Russky Island - a total event distance of approximately 100kms - is a team orientated event with teams consisting of one to three riders.

 

The final and overall classification will based on the total points amassed by each team for each heat, with a time limit set to classify and award points (25 to 1) up to 15 finishers based on the time of the first rider home plus 1/3 of the recorded time.

 

In terms of numbers it is the Spanish and two Portuguese teams who have strength in depth – both arriving with three riders each. Guadeloupe, Turkey and Switzerland roll-out two rider teams with France, Belgium and 2 Finish outfits registering single rider teams.

 

Facing the international riders will be 16 riders from Russia, made up of six single rider teams and five two rider teams including two all-women outfits.
