AMF - PRIORITISING SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Wednesday, 28 May: As the entry for next weeks’ Grand Prix of Italy in Milan (5-8 June) reaches unprecedented levels with 82 riders from 19 countries already registered, and thousands expected to turnout for the Aquabike Music Festival, H2O Racing, AIM Group International and the AMF Organising Committee are focussing, as a priority, on their Corporate Social Responsibilities.

The key initiatives take into consideration and lean heavily toward the premise that ‘water is our most valuable asset’, ‘sports should be practiced by all’ and ‘safety comes first’ and will focus on and promote environmental conservation, integration of the less able-bodied and the promotion of the correct and safe use of Jet-Skis.

Ensuring that environmental conservation is respected and that the waters and basin of Idroscalo remain clean of any residual fuel and free of debris or rubbish over the four days of competition a special Eco Boat will be deployed to sweep the circuit and surrounding areas after each session on the water.

‘La Barca del Sorriso’ or ‘Boat of Smiles’ is an initiative run in collaboration with FIM (Federazione Italiana Motonautica), the Italian Federation, that focusses on the integration and participation of the less able-bodied and those with mental disabilities, giving them the opportunity to take part and get out on the water on a specially designed boat with the clear message that ‘sports should be practiced by all’.

Safe driving is an awareness campaign focussing on the correct, safe and above all responsible use of a Jet-Skis, run in collaboration with Mrs Fontana Graziella, who will be on site to advise and answer questions about the campaign.

The activities relating to the Boat of Smiles and Safe Driving campaign will take place on Saturday, 7 June at midday.
