FORMER RACER AND WORLD RENOWNED EXPLORER VISITS AQUABIKE EVENT IN MILAN

Saturday,7 June, MILAN (Italy):  Alvaro de Marichalary y Saenz de Tejada, a native of Pamplona, Spain who went from a leading Aquabike racer to a world famous adventurer and entrepreneur stopped by to watch the Aquabike Music Festival yesterday  at Idroscalo in Milan for the second round of the UIM-ABP Aquabike Class Pro World Championship.

 

The man who has led 39 maritime expeditions while winning eleven world records since his first in 1982 is now planning an 'around the world' challenge on a Jet-Ski in the next year. 'I'm excited to come here and visit Nicolo (di San Germano) and watch this event progress into a major festival in Milan this weekend,' said Alvaro. 'The format is great and the constant racing keeps the race fans on the edge of their seats throughout the day.'

 

The Iberian explorer stopped by to say hello to the group of Spanish riders in the paddock to wish them good luck while taking in the pageantry of the afternoon qualifying sessions as 91 riders from 19 different countries where on hand to earn world championship points.

 

The graduate from the University of Miami in Florida in the USA has written numerous books, travel documentaries for television while continuing to lecture at conferences around the world.

 

Alvaro is just one of the special guests that continue to enjoy the UIM-ABP Aquabike Class Pro World Championship experience as day three of a four day Aquabike Music Festival at the famous Indroscalo in downtown Milan is set for four different races beginning at 15:00hrs local.
