FRENCH RIDERS TOP TIMES SHEETS IN QUALIFYING FOR TONIGHTS SLALOM

Thursday, 5 June, MILAN (Italy): French Riders Jeremy Perez and Jeremy Poret topped the time sheets in Runabout GP1 and Ski GP1 in this afternoon’s official qualifying and will start as firm favourites for round 2 of the UIM-ABP Slalom World championships.

Nineteen riders from five countries lined-up in Runabout to fight for the all-important eight slots with Perez the only rider to get under 18 seconds on the 5-pin nine turn course, posting the best time of the session, 17.97seconds, on his second run.

Second quickest was Qatar winner and current points leader Gyorgy Kasza from Hungary with Sweden’s Lars Sebastien Akerblom third quickest.

Twenty-one lined up in Ski with the World Championship leader Jeremy Poret clearly looking to make up for his heat 1 Slalom exit in Qatar, going quickest with 21.17seconds, almost three-tenths quicker than Portugal’s Tiago Sousa.

Poret’s elder brother Mickael who leads the Slalom Championship after winning round 1went third quickest ahead of Alberto Monti who he beat in the final in Qatar.
