ORTENDHAL LIGHTS UP NIGHT SKY WITH WIN IN SLALOM

Friday, 6 March, DOHA (Qatar): Sweden’s Emma-Nellie Ortendhal pulled off the biggest win of her short career last night beating World Champion Jennifer Menard in the final of the Ladies Ski Slalom Championship.

 

The 16-year-old from Gothenburg defeated world number two Estelle Poret in the semi-final, winning the first two runs on the five-pin 100 metre track, and came from behind in the final after losing the first run to Menard, to win two one.

 

Menard’s route to the final saw her get past Japan’s Yuki Kurahashi.

 

Victory in the Men’s Slalom went to Jeremy Poret, who took out Stian Schjetlein, Alex Barret on route to meeting Kevin Reiterer in the final, winning two nil.

 

The Runabout win went to the UAE’s Khalifa Belselah, beating France’s Jeremy Perez two-one in a hotly contested final.
