BOSSCHE WINS SKI GP3 OPENER WITH EASE

Saturday, 3 June, PORTO CESAREO (Italy): Belgian rider Quentin Bossche continues to impress after cruising to an effortless victory in the first Moto in Ski GP3.

The 22-year-old from Ostende is clearly intent on retaining his GP3 world title and was out on his own and in a class of his own, cruising to the chequered flag to take the win by a massive 45.29s margin.

Bossche led the field of 18 from pole and was never challenged over the eight laps, with Swiss rider Alec Enderli cutting a solitary figure behind him and giving hapless chase to take second place.

The main duel of the race was the fight for third place between a trio of riders with Matteo Calvert holding of a strong challenge from Andreas Thiesson and Goncalo Rodrigues, who lost ground and a place to Martin Sumegi after a tumble, and was then given a post-race one lap penalty dropping him to 15th, the UAE’s Salman Alawadhi completing the top six.
