RIDERS HEAD INTO CRUCIAL DAY IN EUROPEAN TITLE SHOWDOWN

Saturday, 24 June, PENAFIEL (Portugal): Christophe Agostinho, Marcus Jorgensen and Stian Schjetlein will start from pole position in their respective categories in the first of two Motos on the penultimate day of the UIM-ABP Aquabike European Continental Championship in Penafiel.

 

Portugal’s Agostinho topped the times sheets in Runabout GP1 with a best lap of 1:14.86, outpacing Denmark’s Marcus Jorgensen by 2.73s, the Dane then taking pole in GP2 from Russia’s Dmitry Tsukov.

 

In Ski GP1 Norway’s Stain Schjetlein posted a best lap of 1:35.57s to snatch pole by just 0.29s from overall points’ leader Raphael Maurin, the young Estonian Rider Marten Manni third quickest, with Daniel Svae Andersen fastest in GP2. Emma-Nellie Ortendahl was back on track and the fastest in Ski Ladies with 1:39.43, over six seconds faster that the point’s leader Jonna Botrgstrom.

 

Laurent Escrig posted the best time in Runabout GP4, Mattias Reinaas and Matteo Valente the pace setters in Ski Junior GP3.2/3.3.
