SANT ANTONI DE PORTMANY – IBIZA ALL SET TO KICK START THE GRAND PRIX OF SPAIN
Friday, May 6th – Ibiza (Spain) Only one week left before the Grand Prix of Spain, first round of the UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship, which will take place in Sant Antoni de Portmany, Ibiza on May 13-15.

During that weekend Ibiza will be again “the capital” of Aquabike after 8 years when in September 2014 the first Grand Prix of Spain was held in Playa d’en Bossa.

But if the Balearic’s island already hosted a Grand Prix of Aquabike this is the first time that the race will take place in the crystal water of Sant Antoni de Portmany the town of the “isla blanca” famous for its beautiful view and its stunning sunsets that attract every night the turists of the Island.

The paddock and the race circuit will be set up on the harbour of Sant Antoni so that the public will enjoy the race from the waterfront, perfect spot to see the ability of the riders coming from all over the world.

Despite the presence more than 120 riders coming from 25 different countries, for sure the interest of the locals will be focused on their “island’s heros”: the riders members of the Motorclub of Ibiza and Formentera, one of the organizers and partners of the Grand Prix.

We are talking about Juan Carlos Martin Palau and Alejandro Prats Palau who closed the 2021 Season respectively on the second and third place of the podium in Runabout GP4 and Toni Vingut, former European Champion in Runabout GP4, who confirmed he is now fully recovered from the serious accident he suffered in January during the Dakar race and has been training leading up to the event.
