ADVANCED PROGRAM PUBLISHED FOR NEXT EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP RACE IN GYOR, HUNGARY

Monday, July 14: Following the success of the Grand Prix of Mira, Portugal at the beginning of this month, preparations are already underway for the next round of the European Continental Championship to be held in Gyor, Hungary. Gyor will already be familiar to riders who took part in last year’s World and European Championships, having hosted races there last July.

Well over one hundred riders competed in each of the last two rounds in Poland and Portugal, with just as many expected to descend upon Hungary at the start of August. With so many categories still tightly contested and only a few points separating riders, Hungary is a key opportunity for riders to keep up momentum after Mira and put them in good stead going into this year’s final European round in Vichy, France in early September.

The advanced program for the Grand Prix of Hungary has been published by Aquabike Promotion, detailing the full schedule and categories to take place for the race. Rider registrations in Gyor will open on the morning of Thursday, 31st of July and close at 6pm, whilst technical scrutineering takes place throughout the day.

On-water action starts the following day, Friday, 1st of August, with a ram-packed schedule of free practice and qualifying. The busy morning qualifying categories include Ski GP3,  Runabout GP4, Ski GP4, Runabout GP4 Ladies, Runabout Veterans GP1 and Freestyle, as well as the year’s single-round World Championship races for the Junior categories of Ski GP3.2, Ski GP3.3, and Runabout GP4.

Following a lunch break, qualifying resumes for Ski GP2, Runabout GP2, Ski Ladies GP1, Ski GP, and Runabout GP1. Friday racing finishes with the first of the Moto 1 races for Ski GP3, Runabout GP4, Ski GP4, and Freestyle. The evening’s entertainment is then provided by the Opening Ceremony, set to take place at 8.15pm.

Saturday will be another packed racing day, starting with Moto 1 for all the remaining categories, followed by Moto 2 races from 3pm for Ski GP3,  Runabout GP4, Ski GP4, Runabout GP4 Ladies, Ski Junior GP3.2, Ski Junior GP3.3, Runabout GP4 Junior, Runabout Veterans GP1, Ski GP2, and Freestyle. This means there will be a total of 19 sessions for the day, as well as Freestyle. Saturday then closes out with a Welcome Dinner from 8pm.

The final day of racing takes place on Sunday, 3rd of August, with all the remaining Moto 2 and Moto 3 races. This will be immediately followed by the prize giving ceremony at 8pm, which will include the crowning of the 2025 World Champions for the Junior categories, bringing a close to the Grand Prix of Hungary.
