MASSIVE POLISH ENTRY MAKES FINAL PREPARATIONS FOR A HECTIC ON-WATER FRIDAY

Friday, May 30: The Polish Motorboat and Water Ski Association and Aquabike Promotion have announced a massive field of riders for this weekend’s Grand Prix of Poland. Action gets underway with free practice and qualifying sessions for the numerous categories on Jeziorskomeer, near the village of Ostrów Warcki, on Friday morning.

After Thursday’s registration and technical scrutineering, the field for the opening round of the 2025 UIM-ABP Aquabike European Continental Championship includes 19 entrants in the flagship Runabout GP1 category, 23 in Ski Division GP1, eight in Ski Ladies GP1 and four in Freestyle.

Runabout GP1 includes the current UIM-ABP world champion Samuel Johansson, while the flagship Ladies category includes the 2023 World champion Jessica Chavanne and the defending champion Jasmiin Ypraus. Roberto Mariani is the current European champion and faces fellow Italian Massimo Accumolo, Germany’s Thomas Wolf and Portugal’s Paulo Nuñes in Freestyle. Defending World champion Quinten Bossche tops the massive Ski Division GP1 field against a host of top-class rivals.

There are equally impressive entry numbers across the other racing disciplines. Adding spice to what promises to be a pulsating weekend’s action on the water are 11 entrants in Ski GP2, 10 in Ski GP3, four in Ski GP4 and a similar number of Juniors. Runabout GP2 sees 14 racers in action alongside 15 in Runabout GP4, 13 in Runabout Ladies GP4, eight in Runabout Veterans GP1 and six in Runabout Juniors GP4.
