Thursday, April 30: The advanced program for this season’s opening round of the UIM Aquabike European Continental Championship has been published, outlining the full slate of races set to take place in the Portuguese seaside town of Mira this July 3-5.

This marks the third consecutive year in which the championship has included a race in Mira, which will once again take place in the Barrinha de Mira—the tranquil lagoon a short walk inland from Mira’s expansive sandy beaches facing onto the Atlantic Ocean.

The full slate of European Championship categories will race in Mira, comprised of Ski GP1, GP2, GP3, and GP4; Ski Ladies GP1; Runabout GP1, GP2, and GP4; Runabout Junior GP4; Runabout Ladies GP4; Ski Junior GP3.3, GP3.2, and GP4; and Freestyle.

The paddock opens on Thursday, July 2, with the Grand Prix’s opening ceremony taking place that evening from 6pm. Racing gets underway the following day, with free practice in the morning followed by the Moto 1 for Ski GP3 and GP4, Runabout GP4, and Ski GP4 Junior taking place on Friday evening from 4:30pm.

Saturday, July 4 sees all categories racing in a packed day of continuous Motos from 9am to 7:30pm, excluding an hour-long lunch break from 1pm. Sunday is similarly packed, as all categories compete in their final Motos of the Grand Prix of Mira from 9am, closing out with Freestyle at 6pm. The prizegiving ceremony commences shortly after at 6:30pm, in which the weekend’s winners will be crowned in front of Mira’s typically enthusiastic and large crowds, marking the end of the first leg of the 2026 season.
